Cambewarra, Shoalhaven – nestled between Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Nowra. 2 hours from Sydney or Canberra, only 10 minutes off the freeway. Beautiful countryside, easy to reach, feels like a world away.

Where will the ceremony be held & what's included in styling?

We create a beautiful setup beneath the fig tree canopy - wooden triangle arbour, jute rugs with a half-moon of florals, seating (if you have guests), signing table & 2 chairs. Styling that complements the natural beauty without competing with it.

Who will my Celebrant be?

Sharon Campbell, award-winning marriage celebrant with 18 years of experience. My daughter Brook Isobel Kay is also a celebrant in our family business (younger, better version of me!). This exclusive farm elopement package has been carefully curated by Sharon in partnership with Abergail Farm.

Can I pat/hug/cuddle the Highland cows?

During your designated petting time with handlers - absolutely! During your actual ceremony - let's keep some boundaries. They're gentle but still 400kg animals with horns.

Can we add activities for our guests?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Abergail Farm offers painting and sip sessions, plus coo cake decorating workshops. We can arrange these as add-ons before or after your ceremony. Let's chat about creating a full day experience for your crew.

Question 6

Is there a function room, accommodation or undercover area?

Accepted Answer

There's an undercover awning big enough for your ceremony, seated dining, or a grazing table. Accommodation is a work in progress. No enclosed function space - this is a working farm and experience.

Can we have our styled picnic under the fig tree too?

Absolutely! Vows under the tree, picnic under the tree – perfection.

What happens to the styling after the ceremony?

Accepted Answer

Elopements by Sharon sets it up, packs it down, takes it away. You don't lift a finger. Just enjoy the farm, your photos, and your Highland cow cuddles.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

You get atmospheric, moody, romantic rain photos. The cows don't mind. You might. Light rain? Bring umbrellas or embrace it under the nearby awning. Heavy rain set in for days? Have a backup plan - a local Airbnb works well. Farm elopements are outdoors - weather is part of the adventure.

What should we NOT wear?

Accepted Answer

Stilettos (you'll sink), anything dry-clean only, your grandmother's irreplaceable vintage lace, or anything white you're emotionally attached to staying white. Flowing dresses and sturdy boots? Perfect. Designer shoes? Leave them home.

Question 11

Will the Highland cows cooperate for photos?

Accepted Answer

They're cows, not models. They might pose perfectly, wander off mid-shot, or photobomb your kiss. That's the charm. We guarantee they'll be adorable and shaggy.

What if a cow poops?

Accepted Answer

Then you'll have the funniest wedding story forever. We roll with it, laugh, and keep going. Enclosed sturdy shoes are mandatory for exactly this reason.

Will the animals smell?

It's a working farm. There will be farm smells. If you're expecting Chanel No. 5, this isn't your package. If you're cool with authentic countryside, you'll love it.

What if the Shetland ponies are having a bad day?

Accepted Answer

Animals have moods like humans. Sometimes playful and adorable, sometimes over it and wanting lunch. We work with their personalities - that's what makes it genuine and unpredictable (in a good way).

Can we feed the animals?

Accepted Answer

Only with what farm handlers provide. Please don't rock up with Woolies carrots - farm animals have specific diets and we don't want anyone getting sick (them or you when they stampede for snacks).

Will the baby goats try to eat my bouquet?

Accepted Answer

Possibly. Probably. Almost certainly if it's within reach. They're adorable little menaces. Keep your flowers up high or accept you're sharing.

What if we're allergic to animals?

Accepted Answer

Then this probably isn't your package. There will be fur, hay, and farm allergens. Take antihistamines if you're mildly allergic and committed to the cows. Severely allergic? Let's find you a beautiful headland or beach instead.

What if the quad bike isn't available?

Accepted Answer

We walk, drive, or skip that bit and spend more time with the animals. Farm life = expect the unexpected. We adapt, laugh, and make it work.

Is it safe to wear my wedding dress around the animals?

Define "safe." Will they attack you? No. Might you get muddy paw prints, slobber, or a curious nibble on your hem? Possibly. Wear something you love but won't cry over if it gets a bit farmyard-authentic.

What happens during the petting experience?

You get up close with mini Highland cows, Shetland ponies, and baby goats with handlers supervising. Expect cuddles, photos, enthusiastic nudges and head-butting (affectionate, not aggressive), and a lot of "oh my god they're so FLUFFY" moments.

Can our guests come to petting time?

If you've added the styled picnic for up to 10 guests - yes! Everyone gets animal time. Just the two of you? It's all yours.

Is this package actually as magical as it sounds?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Shaggy Highland cows, tiny ponies, baby goats, rolling hills, and you two saying "I do" surrounded by it all. Ridiculously photogenic, genuinely unique, and way more fun than a hotel ballroom. Just don't wear your fanciest shoes.
